Dreverna village is situated 8 kilometers from Priekule and 33 kilometers from Klaipėda. Dreverna are an old fishermen’s village, first mentioned in 1253 and situated on the coast of the Curonian Lagoon by the mouth of river Dreverna. Dreverna fishermen were glorified by Jonas Gižas, the skilful maker of the Kurėnas, twist- and fish-trap boats. To this day, the little cemetery of Dreverna has preserved the rare monuments of Lithuania Minor, i.e. christenings. Not far from Dreverna village, the fish market Strykis was open for almost 300 years, attracting hundreds of fishermen and merchants.
By now, fishing has remained the main occupation of Dreverna village people. Nowadays the popularity of recreational and tourism business is constantly increasing.
In 2008 September, was completed the project "Tourism Development in Minija River Lowlands and the Curonian Lagoon water routes." After implementation of the project goals and objectives was opened Dreverna quay at the Curonian Lagoon estuary. In the quay are arranged following facilities:
1. Equipped with 30 splaces (260 in length) a quay for sailing yachts and boats;
2. Boathouse (156.50 sq. km. m.);
3. 20 parking places;
4. Slipway;
5. 6 tone crane for larger-size boats to raise on the shore.
