The territory of the Seaside Regional Park is a continental seaside track between Klaipėda and Palanga (5033 ha), white and grey dunes, breeding-ground of a land pipit in the Plazė reservation, as well as a wintering place for birds in the sea are preserved here. Between Karklė and Palanga (approximately 2 km from the shore) the marine reservation is established there and birds’ wintering place of EU significance is included into NATURA 2000 network of protected territories.

Bird Watching Hut by the Plocis Lake
Hut for observation of birds is a perfect place to observe various water birds at close range. If you have more powerful binoculars, you will be able to recognize the flocks of big, medium and and small red-brested merganser, scaup- ducks, pochards, pintails, shovellers, gadwalls, tufted ducks, widgeons, garganei, teals, which rest and shortly stops to feed themselves. It is forbidden to drive up to the lake Plocis by car; the best way is to leave it in the parking-lot present
